Camelbak, you want to add this to your gear!

Camelbak water filtration system used by militry and special forces

If I say hydration what name pops into your head?

For most Camelbak would be at the top of the list.

Their reputation for creating gear for the elite is evident by the amount of special forces' units that use their equipment.

With talks of unsafe water effecting over 700,000 New Zealanders, it is a rather frightening thought that if the water coming out of the taps is questionable, what would the water be like that hasn't been filtered? (Herald, 2017 December 16) More than 700,000 Kiwis may be drinking unsafe water. Retrieved from: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11954291

Now you wouldn't be going around drinking water from puddles or the local stream, unless you had to, but if you do ever go out for longer than a handful of hours you want to make sure that you have a hydration system with you and if you do run out of water you will have to refill and filter the water.

There is the option to grab a filter from your local...

but, as with a lot of products these days, you want to make sure that the water you are scooping into your filtration device and use to keep you going has been properly filtered by something that is equivalent of the standard of Camlebak.

There is good news!

You can get a filter that is made to the standard of Camelbak!

Even better news!

The product is made by Camelbak themselves!

They make an amazing milspec filtration device, called M.A.P.S.
M.A.P.S is an anagram for Microbiological Advanced Purification System.

It removes bacteria, viruses and cysts. Microbiological purification greater than NSF Protocol P248 levels in both Type 1 and Type 3 challenge water conditions...a fancy way of saying that it has been put through its paces and has come out on top.

One of the major benefits of using this filter, compared to other purification filters is that it is highly resistant to damage resulting from freeze (ice crystals) and thaw, when it is emptied according to instructions.

There's more

If you don't want a filter that removes bacteria, viruses and cysts. Camlebak makes a great filter called FRESH. It takes out chlorine and makes the water taste great.
